5 spots for coffee lovers in Paris

4 August 2015

Hi folks ! Since I spent a whole week in Paris during my summer break, I had time to go explore an find some cool coffee/brunch spots here in the Capital with my friends. We’ve been walking around Paris for basiclaly 8 daysand went to a bunch of places but here is my top 5 of the «  Must go to », and nop, Starbucks isn’t in the list at all ahah, as some of you could have thought.

You’ll find below my survey about them and a couple of informations, based on a scale of 1 to 5 stars ★

5 coffee places to go to in Paris

La Caféothèque : 52 Rue de l’Hôtel de ville, 75004 Paris

Pretty nice place to get a really good coffee for less than 5 euros, the Café is not even 1 minute away from La seine and the interior in really nice. The Café is actually splited in 3 différent rooms, with 3 differents atmosphère. They also sale coffee inside and they have a bar with Croissant, food and everything.Plus the room at the rear is composed of old colored table, which makes the place even better.

Ob-La-Di : 54 Rue de Saintonge, 75003 Paris

This is kind of the French « Happy Bones NYC ». The Café in itself is a piece of art, the floor is combined with 2 differents color which makes it sort of minimalistic, plus the decoration makes it looking even better, with these hanging spot lights everywhere, definitly one of my favorite place so far. The only inconvenient is that the Café must be around 5 square meters.. meaning during rush hour, the coffee is « to go » ahah.

Boot Café : 19 Rue du Pont aux Choux, 75003 Paris

We walked past it a day and did not even notice it was actually a coffee shop. Then we looked up on Instagram and found out that place where a lot of people go to. Despite the only 2 tables inside and outside, this place was unique in itself since every part of the decoration were actually to sell, walls were covered by vintage pictures and magasins. American vibs !!Plus the barista is an amazing Japanese guy, I loved him! Same as above, during rush hour, the coffee is « to go »

Paper boy : 137 Rue Amelot, 75011 Paris

More like a  brunch place than a coffee shop actually, we did not get any food there and now I kind of regret it since it looked delicious. The interior was really good, there were a random bycicle right in the middle of the shop don’t ask me why but it looked nice, tables were nice as well and so the coffee was.

Coutume Instituutti : 60 Rue des Écoles, 75005 Paris

Huge coffee/lunch place, located right in front of La Sorbone, the best University of Paris. Huge minimalistic interior composed of large table with plants, this Café has also an « art room » at the rear and a really good aesthetic.
