Bonjour la Belgique !
It feels so weird to say that it was my first time ever in Belgium ! It crazy though that I’ve never been in this country in my whole life while it’s just next door from France.
So the purpose of this little trip was simply visiting my friends from New York City ! So as you might have seen through my Instagram I’ve been stuck for a night in Lisbonne because of a fligh ticket issue that made me arrive at home a few hours before my departure to Brussels ! So yeah, I stayed at home 10 hours actually, I packed my luggage on the morning between 4 and 5 AM and was on my way to the airport right after.
The landing at Brussels International Aiport helped me figuring out how the weather would be all about during my stay… cloudy and that’s all.
The first day has been just « chill » we visited Napoleon’s museum at Waterloo and that’s it, we just wanted to stay calm before the weekend, you know, the calm before the storm.
Saturday we headed to the train station in Brussels with my friends and then off to Knokke, the little French St Tropez here in Belgium. We checked in in our hotel and decided to rent some bicycles. We’ve been shopping in a few stores and I’ve been fixing my hair problem during the whole late afternoon at the hairdresser to get ride of my ginger hair. Once we were done, we drank beers in a Bar and then went to what was the best « party place » in Knokke I guess.
We slept 3 hours and then packed our things up and we were already heading back to Brussels. This time we didn’t do it soft, we booked a room in one of the greatest hotel I’ve ever been to.
We visited Brussels a little bit and in a blink of an eye, we were already out and about for the whole night…
No need to tell that the the time of sleep was really short (1 hour and 27 minutes to be exact). The day after was kind of hard to handle but we went through it!I got to eat my first Belgian waffle !!! It was like the obvious thing I had to try. We walked around the city for a little while but it was already time to get back to the aiport unfortunatly…
I just keep wondering why do I always stay only a few days in every place I go to…
4 days in Belgium, this is how we did it 😉
